Same here. That, and I'm waiting for the Star Wars mod to finish being transferred over to Rebellion... man, I can't wait to play with the Galactic Empire in this game engine!

A star wars mod? Who would be the third faction?

I dont see why you'd want a star wars re skin though, Sins' factions are so much more fleshed out than "Evil Empire" against "La Resistance" >_> *

Are there even enough ships from star wars to replace all the ships in Sins?

Hell yeah! Just a brief look at some of the ships in Wookiepedia, and you'll see that both the Empire and Rebellion have tons of different starships. The only issue I can see is that starfighters are more versatile and survive longer than the ones I've seen from Sins, and I don't think there would be an effective means to create the Death Star in-game.

As for the third faction, you've got a couple of choices. The first would be to go back in time and choose the Galactic Republic or Trade Federation, if not just basing the mod entirely off of them. The second would be to add the Yuuzhan Vong from the Expanded Universe novels, but they might be a bit tricky to implement since all of their ships are alive and made out of coral.

The empire and the rebels have 7 different kind of capitals? If you say so. But what about the titans? You'll need 6 different of those, and that fit the different factions. I suspect it'll be hard to get 3 factions, and then 2 sub-factions for each. I don't think Star wars has anything close to titans, much less titans that represent the sub-factions as well as the vanilla titans do.

Also, the Death Star would be easy to incorporate, since Rebellion has starbases. The advents even have one that can attack planets (with meteorites).

And living ships would probably be in the Vasari's department, they have the most "biologic" theme from all the factions. Not exactly living, but it's still better than the other two factions.

They've both got titan type ships. It's all there in the published fanfiction Expanded Universe. Except for the Executor class Super Star Destroyer. That one's actually in the movies.

It's gonna be pretty easy to fill up the Empire's capital ship list, it's practically their hat trick. The Rebellion would definately be more tricky to flesh out though. They've got a lot of frigates and light cruisers, but few Capitals: only the Mon Calamari and it's bigger cousin exist.

As for the Titans? Again, the Empire is gonna be EASY to choose for. They've got Super Star Destroyers, the Eclipse, the Galaxy Gun, and a whole lot of other Expanded universe stuff.

You don't have to design the factions to match what Sins is doing, either. Instead of loyalists and Rebels you can have a Pre-Collapse Galatic Empire and Post-Collapse Imperial Remnant, and the Rebel Alliance and New Republic serving as the opposite.

I know you cant mix and match the factions of Star wars with Sins', what I meant is that the actual titans represent exactly what their subs stand for. Though I suppose such a mod would not care about symbolism >_>

And how could I forget about the "Supers" from the empire, you could swear I didn't even open a book of extended lore (which I did! (not in depth though)).

But yeah, the rebels will have a hard time finding capitals. The Mons were a stretch, gonna have to dig deep to find more, and without mentionning the titans... Maybe a prototype scratched by the empire?

I really want to enjoy this game. I'm confused, I have no idea what to do or where to go when it starts. I prefer my empire sims turn based dammit.

Just when I think I'm getting things done and building up my strength, a pirate fleet five times larger than mine destroys everything I've accomplished. Even when I pay them to attack the other guy. Seriously, the pirates may as well be the Evil Empire stomping the player factions into paste, but willing to take bribes on who to stomp first.

I can bribe them to attack the AI right? That's not a multiplayer-only tactic, right?

That sounds annoying, Rotpar. Perhaps you want to disable pirates and/or set the difficulty to easy for now.

Also I got this game a few months ago and I'd like to think I'm doing okay at it.

[up][up]You can, but the AI has the annoying habit to outbid you at the last second, so if a raid is coming stay ready to re-outbid them.

I'd like to give you general directions too, but there's so much to cover and I don't remember all.

On easy already. Didn't know you could shut off pirates. I'll try it next game.

I think it's under "Options"/"Rules" (or something similar) during the set up phase for the game.

Yeah, you have the option to just have the pirates stay at their base. I normally do that when I start a game.

Well, Rebellion got a second DLC a while back.

Oh yeah, that one that introduced all those new kinds of planets and whatnot, right?

I think that was the first one and was titled Forbidden Worlds. I think the second one is Stellar Phenomena.
