Somewhere way back in this topic I volunteered to be a cook. I'm getting actual accounting experience now, too, so I could help with expenses, cashflows, and whatnot.

I'm up for learning, but physical stuff is limited since I'm a 95 lb desk jockey. Being able to work til I drop isn't saying much when someone more fit can do the same and more without dropping.

I might find you to have a point. Certainly it'd be hard to fire a rifle with one hand. I am yet to assume carrying such a thing sheathed will inhibit combat effectiveness by a significant enough factor.

I believe the dress code is something that is non military and looks like something you would find on a normal ship.

However, having a bunch of guys with every single one of them sporting a buzzcut would look quite a bit conspicuous.

That would mean we aren't carrying arms aboard, wouldn't it? A ship full of heavily armed guys without uniforms is kinda more suspicious to me than likewise with uniforms, but perhaps it's not so around the Horn of Africa.
