There are other ways.

Somebody said something about the wizards waging a guerrilla war right? First rule of guerrilla warfare is to have the support of the population. Releasing dementors and what have you in Times Square isn't smart. On top of that I'm sure there are more wizards who have non-magical relatives than vice versa.

I don't recall reading anything about wizard farmers; they need to get food right? Food, clothing, basic medicine (advanced medicine for the things they can't fix) ect.

That never did make any sense to me.

Sure, wizrds cn't make food... But that can create more of existing foods! They've duplicted stuff plenty of times!

All we need are a few squib suicide members at the next World Cup, or a few guys with a target designator. It's only a matter of time before we're cutting them apart and finding out what makes them tick.

Worst case scenario: stalemate. Wizards can't leave their territory without getting killed, so they spend the rest of their lives in some un-plottable location making magic sandwiches.

The Weasley twins made their own candy. And Luna's dad has those peaches. I'm sure they can produce their own food we just never see them do it. Or the ministry has some guys who run to Costco on a regular basis.

^ In which case Wizards lose their muggle born population supply.

[up]Check for anyone buying bulk shipments. I get hassled if I buy 2 bottles of cough syrup, I'm sure they'd have a watch list set up.

I'm fairly sure that the World Cup and other similar things wouldn't happen in wartimes.

^^ I got out with three big boxes of cookies.

Also if your scenario means Wizards can't get muggle-borns, then that leaves Muggles with a small but growing supply of magic users.

Depends on if the war is covert or not. If it isn't then we could always go for the Ministry or Hogwarts.

Go for the children.

That'll make the civilians real happy.

Doesn't seem to make much sense to go for a boarding school in the middle of nowhere.

This reminds me of those two war scenarios in Fables between the magical Fables and the mundane human world.

Well if you want to look at it tactically:

Wizard/Death Eaters = magical terrorists - Hogwarts = terrorist training camp

[cue Predator drone or SOF team lasing the place]

Its still a school full of 11 year olds. And they aren't being trained to blow themselves up.

A major reason that Muggles would do very well in a war against Wizards, at least initially, is that Wizards on the whole, even the more Muggle-accepting ones, underestimate Muggles immensely.

The average wizard would get shot dead because they would likely fail to realize that little thing the Muggle is holding is actually a lethal weapon, or wouldn't take adequate steps to protect themselves, foolishly thinking Muggles weak and inferior.

One little assumption I've always made about the first wizarding war is that there were probably many Death Eaters who brazenly thought they could just jump into a bunch of muggles and slaughter them, only to be defeated, and then killed by Voldy who could not accept what he assumed as their incompetence as apposed to Muggle skill - but that was nevertheless how they adapted their (slightly) more subtle approach to attacking Muggles as apposed to outright massacring.

@Scholastica: We've got sicide bombers that age. Depending on how the news/gov/ intelligence agencies want to sping it; they'd find a way; nipping it in the bud so to speak.

@Cyagan: Unless Physics don't apply there lasers would still work. if not, they'd go with the squib suicide bomber route.

Every wizard carries a wand.

^^^ Can't be put on a map, but it can be found if you wander around the general area and chance upon it. It's also invisible and presumably untouchable to non-magical folk, though.

No.

I mean it's Unplottable.

You can't plan an attack thre becuse you can't locate it on a map.

I still highly doubt any govrnment would attack a school of children who ar not being trained to blow themselves up.

How many Death Eaters are there exactly?

@Cyagan: Around here most do. Sure they might get one or two, but then somebody is going to double tap them; suspicious people with firearms are never fun.

As for being un-plotable; we'd have to use WMD's. They'd be effective but I'm not sure how willing we'd be to use them. Just because we can't plat a location on a map doesn't mean we can't use our already existing maps and bomb ever square inch.

You can plan an attack without a map.

And now we have to define map.

Is a satillite grid a map? Is some scratches in the dirt a map? Exactly are the specifications of making smething Unplottable?

Unplottability refers to the deliberate concealment of several areas around the world. Unplottable locations are either magically hidden from plain sight or simply removed on maps.
