You might. It really depends on what your specs are. You can pick up the Director's Cut (which I highly recommend that you do) of HR on Steam for 20 USD and it's more than worth it. It's probably just as good as the original. In some ways, it's better.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. Eidos Montreal NEEDS to make their own Deus Ex!Prime game and consign the old one to history. They've got the story telling chops, the ambition and the talent - they just have to ignore the fanboys and go for it. Pretty much no-one who heard about Human Revolution before it came out gave it any chance of being anywhere near as brilliant as it was.

They can tell the same story, put it in the same settings as the original but they can also put a fresh spin on things and, for pity's sake, it wouldn't be too hard to do a much better job on the voice acting side of things. I love J.C Denton and Paul Denton's voice actor - they're the same guy as I recall, but his delivery of J.C's dialogue, in particular, sounds narmy as fuck to a modern audience.

And Adam Jensen doesn't? He sounds far more narmy than JC.

Not really. JC sounds really fucking monotone, like his voice actor was just reading off the script without any emotion or inflection of tone whatsoever.

Elias Toufexis does a really good job in voicing Adam, IMO.

Everything Adam Jensen says is audio gravy.

I don't know, listening to JC talk philosophy with the bar tender in Hong Kong was great.

He has the right level of snark.

"I know your UNACTO killphrase - Laputin Machine!"

"I am not a mach-"

"Sticks and stones..."

[Gunther blows up]

Need to give Revision a whirl. Saving Paul has to be my most tense moment in the game - so hope they didn't change that overmutch.

Again, ruined my pacifist run at that stage. Accidentally wiped out an MIB who took out three UNACTO guys next to him.

Oh welp.

And the gas station mission, always gotta stealth but ALSO rescue the girl.

After that, no way in HELL is Malik going down. Explosive revolver, grenades, all those nasty surprises I have just in case.

THIS is the just in case. In game, I can see Jensen holding to his pacifist morals right until he's in a situation where he has to face the possibility that lack of expedience means a friend dies. Moral highground retained, but friend dead? Not worth it.

But then someone shows the pacifist run of that and I just feel inadequate.

A new DX prime? Hmmm, potentially. But then again I feel remakes are lazy. However, take the universe and make a SEQUEL to DX? Down with that. Maybe even one parallel or just before Invisible War?

After reading Sunglasses at Night (a particularly humorous walkthrough for Deus Ex), I always rig the Ton Hotel with enough explosives to vaporize every enemy as soon as they spawn in. Except the MIBs, sadly.

Anyone else pre-ordered the new title in the series yet? Because I am starting to feel a little bit lonely in doing so this early.

I haven't. The rewards for doing so are good... but it's still a few months away. No rush to get it before the collectors editions are out of stock or anything.

I lack both the funds and the means to play it. I was surprised that my computer managed to run HR.

So I've discovered a bug in Revision: Due to the layout change, Simmons can no longer make it to the prison area to interrogate the NSF members. If you go there yourself, you'll find that there are no NSF members to interrogate in the first place.

Beat the first boss of Human Revolution: Director's Cut. As it turns out, throwing a concussion grenade from the nearest cover at the start blinds you as well.

The expanded arena does offer you more vantage points and cover to deal with the boss. Asides from the initial EMP grenade I used to cover my scrambling up the ladder to the level above, I used about 12 10mm pistol armor piercing rounds, 6 revolver rounds (both with level 1 damage upgrades) and some turret fire to seal the deal.

I wonder how much quicker I can get these over with once I have fully upgraded both. I'm playing a pacifist run (or at least attempting one), but I'm keeping both handguns handy as "utility guns", the former as a noisemaker and the latter as a weakened wall/bot wrecker.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot

Might be a good idea to pick up the SMG or Assault rifle and upgrade those to the maximum too. Their rapid-fire tracking bullets tend to come in handy against groups of enemies or speedy bosses like Yelena or Amir.

Does HR allow console commands or something?

I'm not sure. It might. I know you can in the original game. It's how you access a third-person camera.

This:

http://deusex.wikia.com/wiki/Zenith

is my favourite weapon in Human Revolution. Get all the mods on it and go hunt robots. It also kills those Heavy Belltower mooks in one or two hits with headshots. Which I used to great effect in Hengsha Gardens.

Is that just the standard pistol? Yeah, I fully upgraded that sucker during my mostly pacifist run and pulled it out whenever I was sick and tired of their shit. Of course, I do believe that the pistol in the original game can become similarly all powerful.

I was forewarned ahead of time that the first boss in the FEMA base would be a damage sponge, so I made sure to hang onto the rocket launcher and grenades until they were needed. Wasn't much of a fight once I unloaded with those babies!

I just fought him again after I picked up my NG+ playthrough. I've been hoarding ammunition because I started this wanting to just kill everyone so that way I was free to explore and listen to the developer commentaries but I ended up wanting to stealth takedown as many people as I possibly could before going Rambo.

I actually ended up dicking around a bit on the boss because I was too busy looking around at stuff. I had wanted to use the turrets to take him down but eventually just decided to use up some of my nearly 300 rounds of Assault Rifle ammo and a frag grenade.

Human Revolution console commands: I believe the hamburger menu is what you're looking for: http://www.nexusmods.com/deusex/mods/2/? It's not nearly as powerful as the original's console commands, though.

Also, I'm now at the initial roof area in Hengsha. I can get the explosive revolver rounds from the dealer inside the Hung Hua Hotel, right?

He wasn't selling them when I was just there.

Anyway, so I'm listening to more of the developer commentary and what's awesome is that they talk about the Safety Dance, the Punch Punch Revolution, and the Adam Jensen Walks into a Bar videos in the track found in front of the bartender.

The burger menu doesn't seem to give me what I really wanted: unlimited weapon upgrades.

I wanted an easy way to test all the upgraded weapons and see what I prefer.

Really, you only need the Pistol, Silenced Sniper Rifle, and either the Assault Rifle (preferable) or the Shotgun. Give priority to the Pistol (although clip capacity, reload speed, and rate-of-fire don't terribly matter) then one of the latter two. The Pistol can basically OHKO every human enemy in the game (sans bosses) if you get a head shot, the Silenced Sniper Rifle is for when you need some range, and whatever other weapon you choose is for bosses. From there, just stealth kill every enemy in the game.

It's what I'm doing. I just got through the Alice Garden Pods and killed absolutely everyone there. It felt good. Then I killed the Belltower guards outside because fuck Belltower. Never once alerted the enemy thanks to save scumming. Also, the devs say that there's a silhouette of two people having sex there but I couldn't find it even after sweeping the place twice.

Ya know, Human Revolution may be too good. If I start playing it early in the day, I'll be doing very little else that day.

I also wonder how Mankind Divided is going to handle Malik. I really hope they decide that her survival is canon because fuck Megan.
