Dragon Ball Multiverse

Specifically the Internet was still limited in use mostly by the Military and research organizations (like labs and think-tanks). But even then dial-up was certainly a thing during that point, and I remember internet cards too.

That said, yeah, Dragon Ball's Earth isn't like ours at all. Even on the most basic level, the population distribution is different: there's 4 mega-cities, with vast VAST stretches of wilderness and small communities in between.

Come to think of it, why hasn't he been involved in this battle? Isn't it his mission to kill Goku? I mean, I know that in the main series the threat of Cell caused him to put that on hold, but in this world, he lacks that excuse.

16 has problems following-through on his plans. The closer he gets to achieving them the less effort he expends towards the goal.

The funny thing is that normally, 18 would make sense, but...well...it's clear that while they have a lot of information about their targets, they don't really know them.

DBZ sorta drifted to the North/East/South/West City thing, but in DB it was largely small villages that Goku hit up on his adventure.

So...why isn't 16 trying to kill Goku right now?

That is kinda his thing, and there's no indication that he wouldn't try without the greater threat of Cell around.

Self-preservation? "We haven't killed anyone (yet)" is 16's sole argument. Or else they'll be destroyed. He was willing to die for his friends, stands to reason he'd be willing to not-kill for them.

I don't know. since we never had a situation like this in canon, it's hard to say what 16 would have done if Toriyama had been writing him.

I wonder if this would have worked in Canon. The Androids mostly caused trouble because they were bored.

Why does Vegeta care about what Krillin and 18 do?

I'm wondering why Vegeta would agree to let Babadi give him the Majin power up if Goku is still alive and therefore not capable of out grossing him.

We don't know that that happens, but if it does, Goku has just always been better at surpassing Vegeta, mostly due to being someone who's trained his whole life compared to Vegeta who just coasted on his natural power.

From Babidi's actions during the tournament we know he gives Vegeta the Majin boost(he doesn't try to 'Majin' any Vegetas during the tournament).

Vegeta also didn't bond with future trunks here so it's unlikely he will have a particular attachment to Bulma and his Trunks.
