Well, there must be a reason Gast is the only competitor from his universe and why that version of Vegeta didn't come along.
I just remembered: Didn't Gast also fight Cell and Buu?
It would have to be an immensely weakened Cell. No way a strong one could appear without Trunk's and his time machine.
The Cell of Gast's timeline would lack the data that Gero gleaned from Frieza and Cold (most likely), so yeah, extremely weakened.
That's a subtle way of hiding Gast's true power. Just because he defeated a lizard creature doesn't automatically mean a Cell on par with the one we know.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well, it won't be too comfortable, but it can hold the both of us.
These faces man. I want to get back to the tournament but I'm gonna miss these faces when we do.

#IceBearForPresidentYep, just as expected.
I'm more surprised it took him this long.
I'm surprised Cui didn't think of it as well. If I remember, it was said in the manga that Cui hated Vegeta's guts just as much as the latter hated thr former's.
Cell without Freeza or King Cold lacks extra power as well as the ability to live in harsh environment. I'm pretty it was said that Cell's regeneration was only so resilient because of the frost demons' resilience, otherwise he'd die as easily as Piccolo. Cell should be killed fairly easily.
Cell would also look different too. I wonder if he'd even have the tail.
As for Trunks, unknown if he'll show up. He went back in time to defeat the androids, not Cell. And he only went back in time because everybody died, but just about everybody is already dead anyway (all that's left is Goku, Gohan, and Krillin). Unknown if he'll even exist in this universe. Trunks' existence is reliant on Vegeta's redemption, which shows no evidence of happening anytime soon. The only reason he started his road to redemption was teaming up to take down Freeza, which didn't happen.
I don't think Trunks would even exist unless Vegeta somehow became a good guy and made his way to Earth after Gast kills Cold.
Doesn't really matter, considering the way time travel works. A Trunks can pop in from the future in a different world, even if in this world, he'll never exist.
With that though in mind I'm starting to wonder if the vargas didn't invent a machine that jumps through dimensions like they thought and instead made a time machine.

#IceBearForPresidentConsidering that Future Trunks currently participates in the tournament, despite being older than the Trunks from the "main" universe, I'd say that's very likely. They just managed to be able to pick and choose in which universe they end up.
No, the "future" Trunks and main timeline Trunks are the same age. The universes are all in the same year.
Also, we're not really given a reason to think that Trunks can randomly go to a different different. He went to his past, and was able to still go back to that same timeline after it split, but there's nothing to say he can jump into timelines he has no connection with.
I was just thinking that. I wouldn't be surprised if Gast deflects it back up and it blows up Vegeta.
I would laugh though.
I think that more or less what's going to happen.
it's painfully clear Vegeta is going to be an accidental (but still deserving) casualty of this fight.
One Strip! One Strip!I really want to see more of this guy's artwork. Can he just get his own comic?
My various fanfics.Or just take over as artist?
And get somebody else to take over as the writer?
My various fanfics.I just love how psychotic Cold looks. I love the style but that goes without saying because holy crap.
It's weird to see Cold so deranged, up until this chamber he had been quite calm, even against opponents on his level, like Bardock. Here, he's been crazy since pretty much second 1. I suppose it's a side effect of not controlling his fourth form (or that's why I think we're supposed to believe).

-After Gast stomps Cold and sees Vegeta trying to escape.
Gast: Hey. Weren't there two of you?
Vegeta: Uh...
Gast: Should've known Frieza's underlings were as bad as their master.
