At least one good thing happened today. I found out that I can now comfortably wear my belt at the fifth slot. surprisedcool Not bad for somebody who had Brown’s Chicken for dinner last night. tongue

Went to the gym today. I really need to go twice a week, I felt so exhausted, I couldn't finish my ab crunches and gave up while working on my pecks.

Hey so is anyone else on here interested in or involved in bodybuilding?

I was thinking about making a thread for it somewhere, but then I remembered this thread existed, and wondered about how the mods might view that.

As far as look, I really prefer having a well proportioned body with good but not overwhelming size. Bob Paris is a legend.

So I've been moving up in weight. I've been thinking of going to 240 or 250 lbs. I'm six foot or six foot one, and I can handle it with a good diet. I just worry I might end up with that kind of midsection I see all these really big guys having.

Reading about the WBF, it's fascinating seeing how Vince Mcmahon seemed to try and make that his new golden child - after so many years as the wrestling guy. And just as fascinating seeing it kind of fall apart with the steroid fiasco in the background.

Honestly, I just find the moralistic panic over steroids incredibly silly. We hear people denounce them all the time, but our movie stars do em by the truckload to achieve these quick and incredible transformations, our Olympic athletes are transparently doing stuff, and our sports players obviously are.

All keeping them banned at this point does is hurt those young amateur bodybuilders looking for some Anavar and Dianabol to be competitive, and ending up with fake product passed their way.

Bumping this thread with an unexpected bit of good news. I went to the doctor to get a prescription for my hay fever. I was asked to step on a scale before my appointment officially began… and it said I’m only 173 pounds, apparently. surprised I wasn’t expecting that low a number. There were times during the winter where I felt heavier than that.

I like to keep my audience riveted.

Well I think I lost 20 pounds in a mouth. And I might be obese but I think I can just keep walking for along time as long as I don't have to worry about stares. Do to getting my doctorI walked for 's [word I'm not getting of spell check] wrong two hours and was good until I climbed starts.

Could somebody give me some pointers on how to get better at doing pushups?

I've been practicing taekwondo for over 17 years, but despite doing them on the regular, pushups is one of those things that I just haven't been able to get better at, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've tried increasing my upper back and shoulder strength, and there's nothing wrong with my general arm strength per se; I've also been working on strengthening them some more lately. (Mainly biceps and triceps) Even when I did pushups almost every day and increasing the amount of them, I still have trouble with them.

As for my technique - I try to make my elbows follow my body rather than them pointing outwards, since that's how you're supposed to do it. Straight back, trying to not go down or up too fast, all that stuff.

And pushups in particular, I've found, really depend on the day for some reason; Sometimes, I can do more than usual, and other days, I feel like I can barely do ten. And as I mentioned previously, this is the case even when I try to do pushups almost every day.

Am I lacking muscles in a different area? Is my technique wrong? I just want to get better at them, so any tips would help.

I've recently started going to the gym again. Just two days a week (monday and thursday). I used to be a five day warrior for a couple of years, but I hit a plateau, and I also got a case of late adult onset diabetes, possibly from overtraining, this around the time covid started. I have my blood sugar in pretty good control now, but I always worry about how excersize effects it.

But I have been making progress from where my personal best used to be. Once the snow goes away and the gritting gravel is swept away, this year I'm trying to get into BMX as a form of cardio and full-body strength conditioning.

This is what I'm hoping to become more like. I'm shredding for a bodybuilding contest in August.

Doing sauna and steam room for that has really helped my complexion.

My body has been really looking more impressive lately.

I've decided to start doing some yoga because I was hoping to develop some more strength in muscle groups I might be neglecting, improve my balance as well as improve my lung capacity/practice controlling my breathing - I feel like, despite practicing taekwondo for over 17 years, I still tend to breathe incorrectly.

But I don't really have the time and money to go to yoga classes, and the apps offered are super-expansive subscription models, so I was considering doing it from home to start with, at least.

Does anybody here know of a trustworthy Youtube channel, blog or another service that has good exercises for a beginner and up? I know yoga is more difficult than pop culture tends to depict it as and that you can get hurt if you don't do it properly, so a source with legitimate exercises to do would help a lot.

What do you guys think of the proposed "Enhanced Olympics"?

It's a project where people are not only free to use PE Ds while competing, but the venue would provide then during the training or so I heard.

It's backed by billionaire Peter Thiel and a bunch of other guys associated with transhumanism.
