Fused gauntlets way cooler than those citadel of flame arms everyone seems to have.
A love that crushes like a mace.Woah, that is really cool. Thinking about getting this game, since there's no subscription and looks good.
Its good. Its also got a nice thing about it where you can take a break and come back with little harm.
Just be aware that it's not as big of a revolution as a lot of people make it out to be. Post-level 80 you'll see that there's still a treadmill.
No game has ever matched their hype.
None.
As lnog as you don't make the mistake of rushing to 80, you'll be fine. I regret rushing to 80 on my Mesmer, though leveling was awesome.
4227-1763-3232. My 3DS Friend code.I got to 80 in no time flat just by working on world completion and compulsively joining events. Post-80 it started to get all same-y.
Side note: Arena Net announced that no new DLC was coming to Guild Wars and it's running on auto now. 8 years since release.
Jonah FalconThats a pretty long life span for a B 2 P MMO.
Well its not like they're killing the game off. They're just focusing on 2 now.
Hey all, new here. I loved the leveling experience of this game when it first came out but now I've started an alt and the starting areas are deserted. If I want to play an MMO by myself I will turn on SWTOR. Any servers have a lively leveling/pve presence? Are tropers prevalently concentrated on one server or another?
XCOM: One does not simply "shoot" a ChryssalidThis game really didn't take off for tropers, so there's no real centralized server.
As for active starting areas...I dunno which servers are best. Can't help there, alas.
...Let us in...Currently wandering through endgame content as well as massive wvw fights, toying around with leveling more classes.
The graphical quality of this game is really appealing, and the map/environments are fun to explore. I am also enjoying the wya Anet injects seasonal/story content throughout the whole gameworld.
Game isn't really grind heavy unless you want a legendary or something from the dungeons.
I def recommend it, especially for the entertainment value...I think you can get it for 40 bucks now and put several months casual or hardcore into it without slowing down much.
XCOM: One does not simply "shoot" a ChryssalidRecently got the game and I have to say- loving the hell out of it. I find the Sylvari especially to be fascinating.
Though....One question occurred to me. If the Sylvari reproduce asexually, why do they even have binary-mammalian-genders? Shouldn't they be gender-neutral, or uni-gender?
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"They want to attract people, I read somewhere.
The most edgy person on the Internet. The Pale Tree was exposed to gendered beings during its growth - notably its two most direct influences were male - and that would have affected its idea of what the Sylvari should be.
Just thought I should go and add this.
Essentially, the game is increasing it's speed on updates to 2 weeks per update, and the GW 2 team has four separate teams working on updates in order to keep up on bugs and such.
Also, there is enough money from purchases of the full game and the Gem store that there may be no need for expansions!
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I suspect if this game ever goes free to play it'll become a lot more popular on tvtropes, as it stands, the initial investment seems to be too intimidating for a lot of people. I can't say it's great since I don't really have any experience with other mmo's to compare, but I don't feel like I wasted my money.
Anyways, patch preview.
I also think they're focusing way too much on attracting the e-sports crowd to GW 2. That ship had sailed the moment the game started and wasn't balanced properly for that kind of competitive Pv P. Unless an act of the almighty occurs, they are NOT getting the e-sports audience that Starcraft 2, Dota 2, and Lo L enjoy. Instead, they should consider following in the example of Classic World of Warcraft and providing an interesting world with loads of experiences to enjoy.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESThe latest update has been pretty sweet so far though.
So basically, I like almost everything about this update besides the lag issues.
Except for Belcher's Bluff.
I've never felt this much hatred for anything since I tried a laptop with Windows 8 pre-installed on it.
My only real issue with the game thus far is the leveling curve. The game is very anti-grind on one hand, but at the same time the "events" don't actually offer enough Exp to keep you leveled in step with story quests.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"You can get experience points from exploring new areas, crafting and completing skill point challenges. You can also go for Wv W and get experience points there, but that's required taste.
Funny thing about SAB actually.
I was actually really lucky to get the shield skin drop on my second run. I thought I'd be clever and sell it early before the price drops since I underestimated the rarity of the skin. Got 8g for it.
One day later, someone decided to buy the skins in bulk, doubling the price. No wonder I'm always struggling for money.
EDIT: price check
