Well hey, it is really hard to have a completely objective opinion on media and the like. But for all that I've said, those are my reasons for not agreeing with what 3.0 is trying to say. You don't have to be so harsh towards me either.
And hey, circumstances do indeed matter. If one didn't realize what they are doing, nor were able to predict the outcomes, that is different than deliberately trying to hurt others. Not saying that he didn't make mistakes, but the amount of stuff that he has to pay up for isn't as much as you seem to believe.

x5 The funny part is Shiji does accept his mistakes and tries to make up for it....and almost ends the world AGAIN.
It would hilarious if in 4.0 he just realizes the world hates him and tries to end it....and ends up saving everyone.
Course, it may just end with Shinji pulling a Joel from The Last Of Us. And, at the risk of sounding harsh, I wouldn't mind it if he did.

The ending will be simple. Shinji will die of boredom after sitting around at the bottom of wherever the hell they are now, Mari will turn out to be Hikari in disguise, Gendo will marry Fuyutsuki, and Misato will sit there laughing, non-stop, with no other action on screen, for the last half hour of the film.
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.Just needs Jet Alone walking through the background of a randomly selected scene.
Before getting punched in the face by Optimus Prime and exploding.
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.Shinji goes mad, becomes an axe-crazy eva piloting psycho, and falls into Mt. Mihara with this tragic music playing:
Will another pilot/Eva get the save like in "Magma Diver"?
I've been watching clips from 3.33 lately and all I have to say is.
Almost everyone who is treating Shinji badly is an idiot. He had no idea he caused Near Third Impact, yet they decide he should be punished for it regardless. Despite seeing very clearly that he had no idea what he did.
I had to get that off my chest. (Man things are probably gonna get worse when I watch it in full later on)
Needless to say, It Got Worse. Mainly due to everyone except Rei and Fuyutsuki carrying the Idiot Ball like no tomorrow.

Well that's just great. -_-
Oboy, here we go again.
It's gonna be fun if Shinji gets into the same position he had in EoE. Especially since he doesn't need a twenty minute acid trip to be convinced "everybody just die".
I think I said that before.
"Everyone should die."
"Okay, but you're still getting your twenty minutes acid trip."
"Whatever, man."
I still believe that even if they told Shinji the truth he would have ignored it when Rei Q appeared. They'd have to get physical proof to validate it. Like a hive of rei heads like the one in the same room as Fuyutsuki and Shinji when they play shogi.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I partially agree. Gendo wasn't really gambling here. If Rei Q hadn't shown up, I think Shinji would have stuck around, and Wille would have eventually been able to explain everything to him (as they were trying to do gradually) and things would have been better off for the protagonists.
But as soon as Rei Q showed up, there was no way Shinji wasn't leaving.

I do feel though that maybe they shouldn't have placed a bomb collar on his neck before telling him the details as to why. And heck, let the dude speak his reasons and what he saw last as well.
Really, the whole thing seems to have been brought about thanks to Poor Communication Skills. Yes, this works for shows like Madoka Magica because all the characters are young 14-15 year-olds who are just entering puberty and are rather immature. It does not work here, since all the characters are at least 28 years old, yet still act like preteens. Basically, all the characters are acting not because their characters would do so, but because the plot demands it.

Evangelion is a show about dysfunctional adults trying to adjust in a post-apocalyptic world. Or at least one of the layers of it.
Indeed it is. It's just that it doesn't feel natural here as opposed to before, mainly due to the fact that, again, we weren't given as much character growth and interactions this time around. In the original, all the characters were fleshed out and given compelling arcs and personalities, that allowed us to fully see where they were coming from and why they did what they did. Here, the entire story has centered around Shinji and Rei, so when it tries to make us care for the others who haven't been fleshed out as much, it doesn't work.
Well, except for Kaji... But even then, we have the manga's interpretation of his story instead of "Eeeeh, I just wanted to get closer to the truth."
Heh, I wouldn't be surprised if the advice WILLE gives to Shinji for him to get over all the stuff he's done is this:
On a more serious note, I feel that this song would have been more fitting for the credits of 3.0:
Finally got around to watching Death & Rebirth, next up the Rebuild Movies!
I'll marathon through the first three, and giving my opinion on them here.
You really won't stop comparing EVA to Metal Gear Solid will you?
Being serious though, I disagree. Sakura Nagashi is a great song with such a melancholy and tearjerking tone that it fits the credits after 3.33 ends well.
Plus like most of EVA's music, it's so damn catchy and awesome (The Wrath of God in All it's Fury and The Final Decision We All Must Take, notwithstanding)

When have I ever denied that? What kind of discussion are we supposed to be having now?
My point from the whole start has been everyone needs paying for their own mistakes. Shinji, already, has suffered for something he did unwittingly. After something like that, no one could ever lead a normal or happy life again, much less someone who was a sack of neuroses and trauma from the start. His life is ruined, and all the 'Oooohh, but everyone will support him now...' arguing, when everyone failed to support him (or each other) properly when things were relatively 'easy' to sort out, isn't going to realistically change that. Things have just gone too far now.
Now it's time for everyone else to also face the consequences of their actions. That's all I'm asking for.
