A look at Jay’s perspective. I never thought anyone could be cynical enough to perceive Grace as less than genuine.

Considering that Elliot thought Grace was a robot that Tedd built to have sex with when he first met her, I can see people reacting cynically to Grace's idealism and All-Loving Hero type behavior.

Then again, every characters behavior was a little different at the beginning of the comic.

I think Grace is less than genuine, though not in a bad way.

I think that in an effort to be appealing to Tedd and Edward she plays up the 'bubbly' aspects of her personality, semi-consciously.

I can see that also as a matter of her consciously trying to be non-threatening, especially since she was essentially being raised as a weapon, not to mention that she does know her own strength.

I find it amusing, and fitting, how Hope and her great-great-something-granddaughter Susan is at the tournament for the same reason, and arrive with the same concerns about about being late.

I hope that they meet before Sarah shows up.
