Because You Were Nice to Me, maybe?

Also, apparently the Knight of Twelve lady is going to be in the Akito OVA? Because this Knightmare is piloted by her, and it's made from one of the AI-controlled Alexanders.

Then again that may be a screenshot from that novel thing, Oz the Reflection or whatever it is.

Going back to the Wolfenstein influences, I would probably have them steal a few prototype Knightmares in a nod to the game, but since they are simply prototypes, they can't use them against the more advanced mechas, and mainly use them for transport and the like. Again, I'd like it to be more based on tactics than mecha battles, especially after R2 just went for who had the strongest mecha.

As for the other characters, I'd give Kallen a combination of Anya and Caroline in terms of narrative role and such. Not sure who'd play the parts of Ferfus and Wyatt though.

[up][up]I think it's just the OZ Manga.

Anyways was it ever implied in the series that his dedication to the Purists was only political? His antipathy towards non-native Britannians seemed sincere.

Orange did seem to genuinely believe in Britannian superiority as a concept. If anything, he probably thought of Marianne as a living example of said superiority at work, rather than the opposite. More generally, I get the feeling she would be seen by him and his ilk as more of a Margaret Thatcher figure, in context. We hear things about how she was an exceptional individual, but nothing about her promoting much reform.

[up] Agree with that, Jeremiah in season one definitley believed in the idea of britannia being superior to all the other countries, and in the fact that only britnanians could be in the army. Hence why he set the purist faction up. Some of his rascism can be put down to him along with others like Cornelia and Clovis thinking that japan killed Lelouch and Nunnally, but not all of it. Plus you have to remember Jeremiah kind of started to lose it following Mariannie's killing, seeing it as his greatest failure. Plus feeling that it was number's who killed her drove him to setting up the purist faction, also the years went on probably contributed to his attitude by the start of r1.

Though personally i always got the feeling from Jerry that he was a bit of an upper class snob who rates the imperial family very highly, which i felt Dauntless showed well, balancing his positives and negative traits very well. Along with developing his character as the story goes.

Well I still want to keep him a sort of a personal schemer. The Purists have a symbiotic relationship with a faction in the Imperial Senate.

I still believe Britannian Racism isn't genetic or ethnic, like the Nazis or Japanese, but rather cultural, like the French or Romans.

[up]The Romans were actually pretty successful at romanizing the provinces they conquered. The French... much less so. The French colonial Empire, despite attempts at 'frenchifying' native populations like in the 'Four Communes of Senegal', were notoriously awful colonizers. I'm actually gonna give the EU their own Colonial Empire that they manage so poorly that many Africans and Indochinese side with Britannia when they invade.

And yeah, I'm thinking of having Nu born in Britannian Venezuela. (Funny note about South America, it actually gives a historical precedent for the creation of Britannia During the Peninsular War Napoleon conquered Portugal, so the royal court fled to Brazil and ruled the Portuguese Empire out of Rio De Janeiro. After the Coalition kicked Napoleon out of the Iberian Peninsula, the Kingdom of Portugal was restore but Brazil became an independent Empire.)

The thing about Jeremiah though is he seems like he'd be for the preeminence of the Aristocracy; shouldn't he have been against a commoner Empress Consort? I'm also reducing the amount of consorts down to around 10 or so, and the amount of children to about 50, large but not unprecedented.

The Romans were also successful at romanization because they made an effort (at least some of them did, VARUS) not to piss off the barbarians that they had. Unfortunately most of them around the Empire's fall squandered the Badass Army on those civil wars and then replaced them all with crappy soldiers.

If I recall, he was also working to get Viletta a baroness title, despite her commoner heritage.

[up][up]Never really gave it much thought as to how, sorry.

Jeremiah seems to just go the whole nine yards with whatever he decides is important. I figure he wasn't really that into the whole purist thing until after Marriane, Lelouche, and Nunally supposedly died. It might have been his way of coping with the grief and explains why he so readily discarded it after finding out Lelouche was alive.

[up]It's weird because I thought the Purebloods were both against granting Britannian Citizenship freely to foreigners and the mixing of classes. Jeremiah being a Devotee to Marianne doesn't really jive with the latter. Unless the Purebloods are more Blue Collar, Minutemen types.

Anyways was wondering what length I should make the character blurbs for each dude.

Venezuelan? I always though Villetta descended from slaves that came from pieces of North America held by European powers, and that at some point, Britannia abolished slavery.

I have Venezeula (which would've been part of Gran Colombia) being annexed sometime in the mid to late 19th Century, along with the Brazilian Empire. They would all be naturalized Britannians by now. Like I said, 'Britannianism' is more of a cultural distinction rather than an ethnic identification.

Was also thinking of throwing out that Celtic Superking Eowyn bullshit. Britannia should view itself, in a way, as a successor to the Ancient Roman Empire.

I was referring to whether or not Britannia continued slavery after the Britannian monarchy relocated to the Thirteen Colonies?

Reading Dauntless, I'm rather enjoying it, but I'm kinda afraid Euphemia and Cornelia are going to end up being relegated to being bit players. It's kinda crazy to me that someone like Nina has been a Po V character but Euphy and Nellie haven't.
