It's not like the Doctor typically worries about it himself. Why would he for anyone else? It comes up once in a while, at best.

It's totally in character for Ten to not be that aware of his companions' experiences being different from his own. Especially the ones who aren't Rose, especially the one who joined him while he was still mourning Rose.
It is inexcusable that the show didn't think that was a bad thing.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWell, Ten was a di— {is shot}
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIs this the point where I roll my eyes and mutter "and here we go..."?
I'll take that as a yes

We also had Shakespeare himself use some unfortunate terminology to describe Martha. It's not wholly ahistorical, but it's still unpleasant to see play out.
Petty complaint #467: I've seen a couple of headlines about gareth roberts' shittiness refer to him as "doctor who writer" and fail to mention he's a former writer with no plans to return to the show.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonHe's only been gone two seasons. There are folks considered active Who writers who've had longer breaks. We didn't here from Whithouse at all between 2006 and 2010, for instance. Chibnall, when he was around, habitually took every other season off.
It's possible Roberts did have, like, an actual ceasing of relations with the franchise and I just didn't hear about it, but I wouldn't take his leave of absence following "The Caretaker" to be intended as permanent otherwise.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies....Huh, I thought he hadn't written anything since ten. I still feel like it's clickbait to put the headline with a picture of thirteen.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonThere is a big urban stink about him falling out with Moffat (who did extensive rewrites on "Caretaker" to the point he ended up with a co-credit), and Gareth had been critiquing Moffat's run ever since on twitter.
He even said the press release for the unveiling of the Mondassian Cybermen would'nt be understood by "normal people"
ooh, that's something I hadn't heard of.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonDavid Bradley and the "Adventure In Space and Time" cast will be reprising their roles of the original TARDIS crew for Big Finish, joining them is James Dreyfuss as the first incarnation of The Master
...You know, I don't think anyone was seriously asking for a 'Master: Year 1', or maybe that's just me.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSo uh
Isn't like half the point of this exercise to keep the old guard employed
William Russel and Carole Ann Ford are supposed to do what now, exactly
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Absolutly fuck all.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundAnd given the upcoming christmas special also includes a recast Ben and Polly, you can bet they'll be brought in at some point to do audios too
Big Finish is probably just using this cast for full cast audio-plays (possibly just this set) while keeping the old guard around for things like the short-trips and the Companion Chronicles.
Not Three Laws compliant.^^ whoa what that's awesome
I am so out of it when it comes to DW. (I'm ~2000 posts behind here) Part of it's just plain losing interest a bit (like I did with the HP books, new books would reignite my interest) most of it is because we don't have broadcast TV anymore, just Netflix and the internet. I could have watched DW on iView, except by the time I realised it was on it had already been over a month since it started airing.
In short, I haven't watched series 10. I'm actually not very interested in doing so but I have to before the Christmas special (hopefully my parents will get me the s10 boxset and I can watch the special on iView.
Anyways! Reason for me posting: I had an odd dream, where I was in a class that had a poem or something due that day. You had to read it out and it could be any subject.
I had completely forgotten about the assignment (I think it had been issued the day before) and the teacher told me to bring it in next class, the next day.
I forgot again, forcing me to write the poem at lunch time just before class. I decided for some reason to do it on Doctor Who.
I composed an entire short poem about Doctor Who, in my sleep.
XD Unfortunately, while I was half awake while doing so, I don't remember most of it, only the last few lines. I wrote them down because I knew I would forget them:
His planet is peopled by arrogant politicans*
ready for war with the Daleks
But he has never been int'rested in where the ammunition 's*
except in the case of those ex-Kaleds.
He has always wanted more
because he is the doctor
.*For some reason, my sleep-brain decided that "politicans" rhymed with "ammunition 's"(is polititians a word? I'm not sure how to spell it). I also had to wake up and find out if the daleks were ex-kaleds or not, so the last two lines I might've added while awake
I don't even really know how to write poetry. I'm going to blame reading three fits of "The Hunting of the Snark" last night.

I'm trying to think of times in both Classic and Modern Who where characters used British terms that Americans don't use at all.
For example: "Shall we take the lift (elevator) or fly?" - Romana, City of Death
That's all I remember. I'm sure I missed some.

Chips had seen some use when Bill was first meeting the Twelfth Doctor and the Ninth in Boom Town. Probably the Sarah Jane ep, too, since Rose was a cafeteria lady
Also "Deep Breath", IIRC. The went to Glasgow and got chips.
There's lots and lots. I suppose someone could work up a comprehensive list but that seems pointless, even by my standards.
Just the ones that come off the top of my head, Donna saying "offy" (slang for off-license, which in the USA we call liquor stores), the term "gooseberry" being used in Amy's Choice, the Doctor uses Northern slang in the Flesh two-parter (the first episode, I think), Missy calling the Doctor a swot (which means smart person), Amy saying "love a squaddie" to the Daleks in Vot D, (squaddie being english slang), "What sort of time do you call this?" is very much a British expression used by River in The Big Bang, "dodgy" which hardly sees use in American English. Clara uses the phrase "hen night" in Cold War-which is lampshaded as an idiom the Russian Grisenko understands her words, due to the TARDIS translation matrix, but not her meaning.
There's countless. Donna probably the most, cause that was just the way she (and to a certain extent, Catherine Tate) talks.
EDIT-wrong thread. Curses.

Yeah, no. That was not OK. It always strikes me as odd whenever the Doctor brings in someone from the present or the future to the past and just lets them go in as they are without giving a thought to whether or not they'd fit in. At least have them wear period appropriate attire more often for God's sake.
