Doctor Mysterio? Really? Wow.
I am looking forward to this episode. Hopefully, Bill won't be as annoying as I thought.
Let's rate the worst companion the Doctor ever had. Who can we agree was a bad companion?
I didn't like Clara all that much in the end. But she probably isn't the worst. Remember that one guy from Dalek? Ends up Satellite Five? Fuck that guy.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name.Worst companion is the fucknut who I share part of my username with.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I have no idea what to expect tone wise from the Christmas special
Strange. I could say the same about my username.
Worst companion as in deliberately bad, like adam? Or most badly written, criminally underused, annoying? "worst" is a pretty vague term. Also I can't name any companions I really hate. There's a few who could have done better in terms of stories (starts with M, ends in A, six letters...) and a few annoying companions, but tbh I like most of them.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William Gibson
Welcome to the club of Tropers who share parts of their usernames with terrible Doctor Who companions. You get a complimentary TARDIS sticker, we meet Fridays at 5 PM, and be ready to play Pin the Tail on the Davies.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Just a reminder Bill is not in the Christmas special.
Double-helping of Class sneek peeks this fine day
The teaser was more Doctor-centric, but this trailer focuses on the Class cast as well as the action
Wow.
This almost seems like the illegitimate child of SJA and Torchwood the more I see of it.
One Strip! One Strip!Class looks really good actually, I was apprehensive when I first heard about it but it definitely looks interesting.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonIndeed. Biggest worry for me is how the story and characters play out.
By worst companion, I mean those who were completely useless, the most annoying, and the most pointless.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name.Honestly, I don't think any proper companions from the new series would come close to that (I keep forgetting that Adam was a thing).
Someone from the classic series, probably, but I wouldn't be much help there.
...Mel?
Oh God! Natural light!Who was the woman who was introduced as "she thinks she's in the Greek afterlife" but then one story later the writers realise she was an ache to write so they had her walk out of an air lock and die?
She comes second to Kamelion.

Should we even count people like that as companions? I feel like Adam and Katarina didn't stick around long enough to count.
A pretty popular convention is "traveled in the TARDIS between at least two stories", which in this case includes her (between arrival and departure story) and doesn't include anyone in UNIT.
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt also doesn't include Clara or River.
(Though Clara's debatable. It's made clear that Clara lives at her home and doesn't travel with the Doctor outside of stories, but she does have a bedroom on the TARDIS which is only ever mentioned in an online short)

There are plenty of non-televised stories alluded to. And I would also count the pieces of stories we see in the montage of Clara trying to keep her life compartmentalized.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI generally consider a companion to be any character that went on adventures with the Doctor for three consecutive stories. One off characters like Adam and the Christmas Special people shouldn't count in my opinion.
Ah, I get your meaning.
I took "traveled in the TARDIS between stories" to be "stayed in the TARDIS between stories.'
In that case River is a companion too as she's had off screen adventures between stories.

Its sort of weird to draw a distinction.
Kazran only appears in one episode but he ends up knowing the Doctor most of his life.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think it's like... at the end of the episode, the companion candidate is someone who travels with the Doctor, and at the beginning of the next episode, the character is still someone who travels with the Doctor.
Danny shows up in a majority of episodes in his series, but he's never someone who travels with the Doctor for longer than it takes to get the eminent crisis resolved.
Fresh-eyed movie blogOkay, so of course now it's infinitely more difficult to find the clip of Peter Capaldi appearing on Mexican TV saying, "Yo soy Doctor Mysterio".
