I do feel like Murry Gold has been producing less and less tracks of note as time goes on.
There's less than half of 2016 left. Are we sure Class is still going to air this year?
Can someone please explain to me the fish tank axe fight joke?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Fish tank is fairly straightforward, since it plays on tank as in army tank vs tank as in aquarium tank
The axe part is that axe can be a slang term for guitar.

Oh.
It's not that funny.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The Doctor's audience agrees, and probably would even if they had gotten the joke themselves.

It's a granddad joke. Meant to be the worst groaner.

Fresh-eyed movie blogBut the presentation was awesome and cool! A teenager's wet dream! Why must you be such a paradox, Doctor?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Because it's a show about Time Travel, those are pretty much made of paradoxes.
How unorthodox!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.In terms of companions, is Amy unique in describing the TARDIS possessively (calling it "my spaceship") everyone else seems to be "The TARDIS" or, "The Doctor's TARDIS"
The earliest serials had the Doctor and his companions refer to the TARDIS as "the ship" rather than by name.

WHY DOES MISSY RANDOMLY SLIP INTO A DIXIE ACCENT IN THE MIDDLE OF MURDER?!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.In fact, she keeps shifting accents all the time. Was that a Master thing before, or did she copy it from Moriarty?
Also, "Your sewers are revolting!" Could it be that the entire episode was constructed around this one pun? Because this was a good one!
"I'm the Doctor!" *puts sunglasses on*
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. She shifts accents because Miss Gomez is a brilliant actor who can use different accents and does so. It could also be a stealth insult to RTD who wouldn't let David Tennant use his natural Scottish brogue of an accent when he took up the role because he didn't want the Doctor to go on a bus tour round the regions in terms of the way he spoke.
So... RTD is racist towards people from Scotland is what you're telling me, right?

Yeah, because RTD had no problem with the Doctor speaking with an accent from Oop North first, Estuary second, and then RP with estuary touches. And, of course, Capaldi speaks Glawegian. So, WTF RTD?
But, still, the Dixie felt particularly random. Maybe she could do non-English English accents? Like, a French accent, a Spaniard accent, an Arabic accent?
But yea, Miss Gomez is amazing. I mean, look at her go, she's just constantly drawing the eye and dictating her own pace. She's like a Joseph Joestar if he were evil. Or something.
She's a great Foil to the Doctor, that's for sure.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I don't know if anyone here likes a good Filk Song, but apparently this exists

Why Sulu and a Stormtrooper?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The album is called bitrektual. That seems self-evident
Am I missing an in-joke?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The album title is a play on 'bisexual' but I'm not the artist so I don't know why the album art was Sulu and a stormtrooper, other than the fact that they're from the mainstream dueling SF fandoms.
