Rerun person here! What would you like to discuss?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. So, why does it seem like the digital releases of episodes (amazon, Sony's digital tv things, maybe netflix too) in the U.S. also use the shorter rerun versions?
Unless they don't and I'm imagining it.
Oh wait, Three did die of radiation poisoning? That means radioactivity's killed the Doctor twice, making it one of his most common deaths.
Relatedly, what did War die of? I can't remember if something is specified.
Heart of StoneAmazon and Netflix don't. Can't speak for Sony.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. He died of old apparently. Or wearing thin or whatever.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah, I think War Doctor just got old enough to die, which is apparently what killed the first Doctor.
Come to think of it, Eleven did as well. He was at the point where he'd have died for real if not for the Time-Lords giving him a new regeneration cycle, so that's three for old age.
One Strip! One Strip!I mean, it's worth pointing out that the First Doctor had been exposed to a Dalek time disrupter thingy that aged a lady to dust after she saved him from it.
And also that the Cybermen drained his energy and stuff, until Mondas blew up because reasons.
And Twosie was forced to regenerate by the Time Lords. Gallifrey's own version of execution.
"My light shall be the moon, and my path the ocean, my guide the morning star as I sail home to you...."So we've got old age (One, War, Eleven), radiation (Three, Ten), falling (Four, Eight sort of), and miscellaneous.
Heart of StoneIf you count the energy from the Heart of the Tardis as Radiation, then put Nine in the same category as Three and Ten.
Nine and Ten even died in the same place: in the Tardis.
One Strip! One Strip!Died in the TARDIS:
One, Five, Six, War, Nine, Ten, Eleven by the strictest definition.
Fresh-eyed movie blogOh right.
Wow, all of the New Who doctors have died in the Tardis so far.
War counts as well I guess.
One Strip! One Strip! And One regenerated in the TARDIS, And there's Six with hitting his head on the console....
"My light shall be the moon, and my path the ocean, my guide the morning star as I sail home to you...."8 doesn't, if you want to draw a line there.
He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space.Well yeah, but I'm talking about Nu Who doctors.
Yes one died in the Tardis, Five died in the Tardis, and Six hit his head and died in the Tardis (so hard he didn't even look like himself), but that wasn't always a thing that happened.
But every single Nu Who doctor has been in the Tardis when he regenerated. That's kinda funny.
One Strip! One Strip!Spoiler alert: I am screaming.
He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space.Footage or it didn't happen.
8's regeneration was written by Steven Moffat in 2013.
I dunno how you could get more "Nu Who" than that.
I think they were talking about Seven's regeneration into Eight.
The statistically most likely way for an incarnation of The Doctor to die is of Old-Age-Poisoning during a collision.
Also, I'm am really fascinated by the prospect of River returning. Does it take place before River's death, and so River meets a version of the Doctor from a future beyond where she is important to her; a Doctor who prooves at some point she wont be a worthwhile part of his life, or after River's 'death' were we explore how their relationship can finally progress into new ground? I'm kind of fond of seeing River and The Doctor happily married actually; that's only ever happened twice, Angels Take Manhattan and Name of the Doctor
Wouldn't call either of those all that happily. But yeah, more stories where the Doctor and River both know they're married would be nice.
Fresh-eyed movie blog
So I sorta want to talk about the thing one of us said about the reruns.
Cheap.
Twelve, Trenzalore, and Clara.
