This just occurred to me, apropos of nothing.
Bang is a deadly black-haired woman whose relations with men generally involve a great deal of control. She wears a red pullover under a white blazer. In spite of her prominent frontage, the blazer closes somewhat near the middle, with the exposed red patch wider above and below—in other words, hourglass shaped.
Is she drawn to suggest the Black Widow?
Also, TV Tropes reminded me of this page. In the center panel, Zeetha is wondering. I wonder what she is wondering about?

I think if Bang was supposed to evoke the Black Widow, her clothing would be more, well, black.
I don't think she really fits as a Black Widow type, anyway. You don't send out Bang when you want trickery or seduction, you send her out when you want mayhem and destruction.

Well it may be a few things but... we can't rule out the Girl on Girl Is Hot option with the hide your lesbians idea as well. But then I do admit that watching Sailor Moon has had a hand in this.
Well here goes nothingNEVER rule out the Girl on Girl Is Hot option!
Trump delenda estBesides there is another thing... the translation and the mentioning of the term when Agatha begins training under Zeetha.
It is probably a good clue to start from there.
Edit: No early update and got another moment where I can be on the same team as Moloch. Things blowing up not nicely means a less rested individual and might as well swipe a Death Ray if able.

Well here goes nothingSo ... iz vun huff de boyz gunn be de victim?
Oh, dear. Tarvek's beginning to enjoy this...indeed, the two sparks are sparkin' plenty-good.
Mostly Harmless.Moloch just doesn't like to go shopping. Tarvek is not favorably impresses by Moloch's gesture of gratitude.

Heh. I can almost hear Tarvek thinking, "Well, that takes a few points off your 'Best Minion' score! You're no fun—you fall right over!"
Mostly Harmless. That panel just cracked me right up... not least for Tarvek's expression, as well.
i am loving a heterodyne in charge of her Jaegers. the dynamic is glorious.
I also wish the downpour weren't quite so thick...I wanna get a look at the jager next to Oggie.

DoodlesYes. I can see Agatha someday recalling this as one of her happiest moments, as it's got all the elements a spark-lord needs for true contentment: an amiable sparky companion/consort with whom one has a good sparky vibe, a superb minion, a galumph of Jaegers, a near-infinite supply of other sparky work to cannibalize, and a suitably impressive array of opponents so you can SHOW THEM, SHOW THEM ALL!
I can see her now, over her mulled wine, boring her grandchildren as she sighs for the good old days.
Mostly Harmless.Awww, I wanted to see more of the Von Zinzer Jaeger Squad. Mostly because Dimo and Zinzer are my favorite characters in the strip (for kind of similar reasons), and seeing them interact is quite fun.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Moloch grovels well for a non-minion.
He knows, deep in his heart, that he is very very glad that he doesn't have to go shopping with Jaegers any more.
Well he was made a minion by situations in life. Also the Jagers are loving the hard part but some are learning and the Generals get there by learning what Moloch did.
Well here goes nothingThe most adorable thing on this page is Moloch's happy/grateful face, Greybeard Fan and rikalous are right, he hates shopping. The second most adorable thing is how Tarvek Sparks literarily, this is the second time that his first thought is about what he read. I like his face in the third panel, he's deep in the Madness place, deeper than I remember seeing him before. I don't think Agatha's quite as far gone, but then she has to keep half her mind on the final goal too.
Agatha is gathering up her retinue. My head says that we're going to meet up with Othar and Violetta next, with Othar having a roaring good time battling Wulfanbach forces and Violetta adding a bit of vicious practicality to the fight. Who else thinks this volume is going to end with Agatha's retinue reconstituted, the zappy stick made magnificent, and DK getting the benefit?
If we're seeing the Baron's top forces now, we can see how valuable the jaegers are, they don't seem fazed in the least by anything, not for themselves at any rate. That mantigoon certainly exuded elegant danger. Bloater tanks don't sound quite so elegant, but I am very curious about what they are.
I suspect Mama has gone shopping with her boyz for earlier Heterodynes. I do like how the zappy stick is getting fancied up.

From her matter-of-fact reaction, I'm beginning to suspect that Heterodyne Shopping Expeditions are a regular feature, wherever they happen to be. They might, possibly, even be genetic (marauders and all that).

Nettle says "how Tarvek Sparks literarily, this is the second time that his first thought is about what he read" Which gives a sop to my cherished hope that his mother turns out to be from the order of the librarians. :)
Well... bookworm Sparks make sense. You need somebody who's enthusiastic about the archives to work out what might work out better, next time.
Barrayar ruined "shopping" for me.
Oo an interesting thought!
I imagine the publishing business in this world must be a very interesting place. For books like that to not only be published, but then to be read and referred to . . . what gets turned down for publication? How many "I will show you all!" are in the cover letters? How does one word the rejection letters?

Actually I am a rocket wizard. With care and attention? Or face zappy doom!
high-fives Claudeng
Well in any case getting the lil tripe inside isn't that bad. Like coins falling in the hot coffee cup.
Well here goes nothing
