Well this is gonna stink on toast... Tweedle might give some butt showcasing at some point.
It is building up for that one.
On the other hand Voltaire might be onto "Colette must be good at dealing with crisis for her to take the mantle". I am thinking more onto that field.
Well here goes nothingVioletta says Grandma always hated Lucrezia. http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20160504 But Grandma's son Aaronev was running the Order as "Foremost of Lucrezia's allies". http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20051230
I wonder how Grandma felt about her son siding with Lucrezia? And relevant to the party, would Grandma have known about Demonica's rebellion against Aaronev? Demonica and Mistress Loremistle destroyed the Lucrezia's machine in Sturmhalten. It seems that both Grandma and Demonica might have had a shared interest: pulling the Order (and House Sturmvoraus) away from Lucrezia.
Zola is Demonica's daughter. She trained as a smoke knight while Aaronev ruled Sturmhalten. Let's say Zola is still in control, just waiting and following Lucrezia's plan. Is there any chance Zola and Grandma would team up? Neither would trust the other of course. But if the geisters and revenants start losing, Zola may look to switch sides.
If Zola starts losing and Gil shows up she'll scream for help presuming that he will still rush to her aid just as he's always done. Somehow I doubt that that particular behavior is still dominant, especially after she tried to kill Agatha. It's going to be 'an interesting time'.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!It's possible that Grandmother is Tarvek's maternal grandmother.
http://www.mansionofe.comAlso, Grandmother may not have always been in charge - this may only be the case now that "grandfather's dead", and this grandfather may have been more in line with Aaronev's plans.
There is another simpler option. Grandma is one of the top members because she is one of the most senior members alive in that order.
Basically she outsurvived everyone else of that generation.
Well here goes nothingIf Zola tries to appeal to Gil for help, she may just run headlong into Klaus. That would be all kinds of interesting.
Grandma may kept things on the low-down while Gramps was alive, then kicked the disassociation from the Lu-followers into full gear once he died. As discussed before, the woman has to be insanely devious.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettConfirmed, actually. Tarvek claims to be a direct descendant of the Storm King through his mother.
No, that doesn't confirm anything, just makes it possible. It would be really nice to learn Grandmother's last name.
http://www.mansionofe.comI'm not sure why, but I got the feeling somewhere along the line that the Storm King had a lot of daughters across Europa, in marriage or not. ?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI was always curious as to whether all these claims of being related to the Storm King was through direct lineage or just being in the same family tree. If he was pining away after Euphrosynia this entire time, and it seems he died in some battle trying to reclaim her, that doesn't exactly leave time for heirs, unless he slept around. Was he previously married and this whole thing some overblown extramarital affair?

In comic, the only bit of info we have on this is Gil's comment to Zola "If the stories are true, half of Europa-" One of the print novels includes a footnote essentially saying, yes, Andronicus slept around a lot before getting married.
http://www.mansionofe.comKings tended to do that . . . and I'm not sure that the tradition has actually faded away much.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!It is good to be the king. The droit de signeur if I don't recall wrong.
Well here goes nothingThat's actually widely believed to be just a myth. But kings and nobles in general often had mistresses and the occasional romp with a commoner. One English king had dozens of illegitimate children, for example.
And half of Europa being descended from the Storm King is very similar to Charlemagne.

Comic for Wednesday, January 18, 2017: sneaky gate permalink
This is an automated program that checks the Sneaky Gate every 5 minutes. source codeWell it is a very early posting (as of late) but also it shows that well it seems the sickness went around.
Well here goes nothingGuessing everyone has the 'flu; hope they feel better soon.
Cheyenne posted pics to Twitter and it's been posted on the FB GG page; very much not fun times.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettNasty thought: What if Mr. Obsidian got wasped?
What if Grandma, Seffie and/or Colette got wasped?
Colette might be a Spark (could explain why the Master has high hopes for her), and Seffie's been with Gil enough that it's likely he gave her the antidote.
If Gil has any sense, he gave the vaccine to Paris and Seffie's group some time ago.
The best defense against wasping is a population that can't be wasped -which means vaccinating as many people as humanely possible. Especially allies.

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettAll the pets wearing plague masks are a nice touch. Makes him look like some sort of extremely creepy disease-powered supervillain.
Still not as fancy as the ones in Mechanicsburg!
