Please stop ruining the funny joke.
This is TVTROPES, the place jokes go to die and be ruthlessly vivisected.
We shouldn't encourage that.
I think it just naturally comes with a place that continually breaks down stories into their component parts.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Jokes are like frogs.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.They start out as these helpless little wrigglers until they eventually grow legs and adapt to life outside of water?
Nah, they're just easily mixed up with toads is all.
I thought it was because if you lick the colourful ones you die.
Jokes are like frogs, this modern world is killing them off.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Jokes are like frogs. When you try to make fractions with them, things get weird.
I have a message from another time...Gunnerkrigg Court confirmed to secretly be Frog Fractions 2?
I don't know I'm laughing at this more than the original joke.
Normal bowling rules may not have anything about using etheric, magical or telekinetic powers but does the Court they seem like they might have it come up way more. Mind you using your magic powers might be both expected and considered practice.
Maybe on a tenth frame she threw the ball, retrieved it, and threw it again in one fluid motion?
Or maybe it's a joke you guys this is why Tom hates us...
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Tom hates us?
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Tv Tropes Will Ruin Your Life. Obviously, Tom doesn't want his life ruined, so he makes a point to avoid it.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! He doesn't like the way things are categorized and dissected, and I recall one thing noting a distaste for the fact that entries are padded with things a work doesn't do. And just a general feeling that the site is marking a work as "guilty" of X or Y trope.
It's been forever since I read Tom's description of why, so don't quote me on it.
I have a message from another time...Yeah, but I think the site has rather cleaned up its act since then. Most of the This Troper -style stuff is gone.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Tom's comment made me laugh.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. She's so adorable in this one.
I don't think Tom appreciates any deep analysis and dissecting of his work. I recall someone saying that he reacted rather negatively when they tried to analyze that one time when the boy and his parents became birds and went over to the Forest.
@Daremo: DBZ references make you laugh? (Count the number of balls in the first panel.)
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Soon she shall learn to extend this control over the troublesome people in her life.
All will love her and despair.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."And then the people who complained in the first place replied that Tom's interpretation of the chapter was wrong. So Tom said, "I guess this was a bad idea," and locked the thread.
I didn't write any of that.Ah, Death of the Author, although in this case it seems like there might also be a side of Unfortunate Implications, because one can't really compare something like moving to a new town and new school because parents got a different job to getting turned into an entirely different species and leaving the whole world you were familiar with behind.
I guess the horrible side of it is lessened if you consider the example of Rabbit as indicating that the animals of the Forest still have human-level sapience, so birdkid's not getting lobotomized by being reduced to an animal brain.

Annie's clearly not very familiar with bowling, though. If she mistakes the declaration of "double strike" (and yeah, lots of bowling centers do declare that on screens now when one happens) from the screens, then she might say that without realizing just what happened.
There is actually a fairly mundane explanation even if Janet did knock down 20 pins in a single throw (I've seen it happen IRL, with a combination of weird bounces and too much resonance in the pin setters), though it's an issue of a poorly maintained set of lanes and the rules cover what happens in those cases (a dead ball is counted on the lane where the ball wasn't thrown, and the pins are to be reset and the frame is to be bowled like nothing happened).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
