Well, I don't think it took until old age for any avatar to recognize their abilities. But its Chat GPT so it just worked with what's there instead of making a new scenario with a younger Gran Gran.

Yeah, that's just vague cookie cutter nonsense. It's autofilled some generic hero's journey thing because ChatGBT isn't actually creative or intelligent.

I think it reasoned under the assumption that she would discover her powers at the start of the show and worked from there. I'm sure we can ask for a scenario where she discovered it earlier.

The show does leave open the possibility of such a late discovery, though, since it usually takes an active search for the Avatar to discover them, and a latent Avatar living in a remote area just may go unnoticed if not in the opportunity to accidentally discover a second element.

Or she might discover it by herself while young, and keep it secret out of fear, especially if she heard what happened to the Air nation.

Maybe, but go and try it for yourself.

It didn't reason shit. It's not intelligent, it's glorified autofill. All the text it can find about Gran Gran say she's an old woman so that's what it goes with.

Have you used it?

Would that change what it was and how it works? No.

And No. I write my own fanfic in so far as fanfic can be my own.

Just because you're uncomfortable with it doesn't mean it's off topic.

And it's really a lot more complicated than just copy pasting into scripts. You can set up a scenario like those I mentioned, and keep asking it questions about how it would change the plot, how it would affect other characters, how the plot would change, etc. And it just keeps giving plausible answers. And you can ask it why it thinks that, too.

There's a reason people are worried about this thing's effects on creativity, and I can see why now.

The discussion of the last few posts hasn't even been about the show. It's about whether or not Chatgpt is good at coming up with a fanfic of the show.

Dave Bautista's character will be a water-bender who wants revenge on the fire nation. He will either try to wipe out the fire nation or take their bending away through some spirit shenanigans.

Is that announced information or speculation? I hope they're not going to try and do Amon before Amon in the film. It would be disrespectful to Korra.

That does sound like they want to do Amon before Amon. I guess the moviemakers are writing their own fanfiction too now.

I find it ironic that you guys were just complaining about me discussing AU ideas for this show, and then this news comes out.

It's not ironic to discuss potential actual new media. That's not fanfic.

I'm guessing it's just speculation. I don't hate the idea of another Waterbender villain, but considering Korra had 3 big ones, I'd hope that the villain of the movie would be an Earthbender. Kuvira's the only main villain Earthbender, whereas we have tons of Firebender villains from Avatar (plus one minor Waterbender villain).

Granted, we have even fewer villainous Airbenders (just Zaheer), but there's... kind of a reason for that. I think Mai and Ty Lee are the only significant non-Bender villains, since Amon turned out to be a fraud, so maybe the next villain could be a non-bender. They're not super flashy, though.

Don't forget Asami's father back when he was working with Amon. The Equalists wouldn't have been as big a threat with his tech.

Isn't this an ATLA movie, though? Why do they need yet another villain?

Well, they can't exactly fight against the Fire Nation if the movie takes place after the series, now can they?

It's an ATLA movie set years after Aang vs Ozai. Unless the villain is going to be Yakone, there's gonna be a new villain.
