I want Madara back. Like, it's the final battle against the 108th alien and then Madara comes out of nowhere and shoves a hand through his back, absorbs him and casts IT again.
Problem is that would make this series into fucking DBZ. The power-scaling has gone to shit among other things.
At least bring in actual demons from Hell not Goddamn aliens. That soften the blow.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Dragon ball did that and it still raised more questions than answers about Power Scaling.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."It can always go the Kamen Rider route in terms of bringing in aliens
Hell, Cartoon Hooligans already did it with a Kamen Rider styled spiderman vs Venom fight.
Watch SymphogearAfter they've beaten the strongest in the universe they'll have to start fighting actual Gods and then the strongest fighters in other universes.
Or am I thinking of something else?
Kaguya was an alien in the Japanese story she came from too. It was the logical conclusion.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. That may be the first time I've read Kaguya and logical in the same sentence.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Usagi from Sailor Moon is also based on the Mythological Kaguya, too.
Watch SymphogearNaruto's son: I hate ninja tech!
gets to hold a lightchakra saber
Naruto's son: I love ninja tech!
Now we just need a villain who wants to reset history so mankind can once again reach the pinnacle of art that is Star Ninja Wars.
We have a Boruto thread, by the by.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!This is quite interesting (and the Looney Tunes montage doesn't hurt. ) The Naruto-Sasuke fight in the first series had a similar issue, to a lesser extent. I'm not sure if it was the same animator in both cases…
I loved the first Sasuke and Naruto fight and you are right. The exaggerated and intense animation was apparent even then, but then they took it into overdrive for the Pain fight.
Also everytime it cuts to Sakura the animation and art consistency is really decent but no one mentions that.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.No one mentions it because we're too focused on Pain looking like a fucking horse.
Seriously. The people who defend that fight keep going "it's so fluid!" - So is diarrhea, but it's still shit.
As for Looney Tunes, I'm pretty sure I've linked this before, but it's always worth additional viewings.

The sad, REAL American dichotomySomething I've learned is that a lot of people don't consider the art in an episode as well as confuse art for animation.
God the Pain the Pain fight had Godawful art.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I dunno what you guys are talking about, this is amazing.
It's not the awful art and animation that get me, it's the fact that Pain acts deathly serious after getting nailed into the ground like he was Duffy Duck.
Gigguk pointed out that it isn't awful animation and pointed out what actually is awful animation (Gai fighting his doppelganger during the rescure Gaara arc, which IS barely better then crude stick figures) but its ill fitting of the tone of the arc.
Watch SymphogearThe part after he gets whacked is funnier.
His eyes rolled to the back of his head and then rolled back just to say "Do you hate me?" all while he's just head in the ground.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Another funny part is Pain comically dodging the chunks of rock Naruto is throwing at him.
Just looks so silly.
Sad cause the first 5 seconds of the fight where Pain walks under the cliffs while were looking up at him was fucking gorgeous.
That instant moment of the entire Goddamn fight was fucking beautiful.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I don't mind any of the Naruto/Pain fight animation wise except for the blurring of his body when he goes all "my pain is greater than yours!" That's just sloppy. It doesn't look like speed lines it just looks bad.
His paths are dead bodies that he controls, it makes sense that he would manage to be pretty serious even after getting literally hammered into the ground.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"All I know is someone was binge watching Avatar the last Air Bender cause Pain is clearly trying to bend his way out of that section of the fight
It's pretty clear to see how we got here. Naruto and Sasuke are the Strongest in the World so now they have to introduce Freeza, the Strongest in the Universe.
But seriously, it makes sense. Kaguya was supposed to be the pinnacle of power on this planet, right? So you gotta go off-planet to find greater threats.
