Unless they're dangerously inbred, then it wouldn't make sense for the entire clan to have it if it was a recessive trait.

It's also possible that the negative side effects of inbreeding just don't exist in this world. Look at the Ōtsutsuki clan; they existed on the Moon for centuries with no one to breed with but themselves, and the only genetic problem they had was the lack of eyes, which they were consciously doing to themselves anyways.

The actions of the Ootsutsuki clan in the moon lead me to believe that they were suffering rather severely from the mental side effects of being inbred, at least.

Hiashi's wife was a Hyuuga. So there's definitely some amount of in-breeding going on.

The Uchiha Clan also seem to be inbred.

There is probably some pretty fair distance between members of large clans anyway.

Until otherwise confirmed, I'm going with Bolt and Himawari have the Byakugan, but thanks to genetics they have normal eyes when it isn't activated.

And thus the Keikaku has removed one of the Hyuuga's greatest flaws: the ability to identify them simply by looking at their eyes.

IANCE, since when has anything in this series been realistic?

Hell, everyone and their pet can pull a Christ whenever they want. The very idea that they could live on the Moon is unrealistic, especially since the Otsutsuki clan are aliens from another world entirely anyways.

The most significant clans in this series are descended from an alien; why would anything about their genetics be realistic, with everything they've done to genes over this entire series?

We've got people who can start fires by looking, use their own spines as weapons, fuse with dogs, remotely control corpses, creates mini dimensions inside people...the list goes on.

So...yeah realism went out the window quite some time ago.

No, it's about how a setting is like reality unless noted.

It also applies to the laws of physics and nature working the way we know them to unless it's explicitly noted that they don't.

The title says it all really.

Except we saw Naruto, Sakura, Shikimaru, Sai, and Hinata on the Moon's surface, and they were completely fine.

This movie sounds stupid as hell.

Because we can start with the fact that it was made by a man, and move on with the fact that doods that are pretty much capable of magic live on its surface. Presumably, before they actually moved there, they made it habitable or it was already habitable to begin with. I mean, it does have the corpse of a Physical God as its core, which our moon doesn't have, I remind you.

Whoa. Physics is involve now? In my view it sounds cause this is a world within the imagination of a man. Our science or realitism doesn't matter here if Kishi wants them to be that way so be it.
