• So Okay, It's Average: Despite how Gleason exaggerates for comic effect in the apology, the first episode wasn't offensively bad as he claims, so much as it was just dull and rather unfunny. Since none of the guests could see the picture, it was impossible to guess the answer without significant prodding and gags supplied by Jackie, who was more concerned about making the audience laugh than being helpful; as a result, the whole thing was less intuitive on the guests' part and more a process of elimination. Gleason himself admitted that it was a product of botched execution and overconfidence, and what had seemed like such a hilarious party game became boring in the medium of television.
