  • Anvilicious: The closing 'sketch' of You Hate This Show Because You Hate Yourself is just children throwing a ball around as we hear what is presumably meant to be their internal monologue.
Kid: I have to take 54 milligrams of Concerta every morning, and it's making me different.
    • The entire show will feel this way considering it's satire on social justice and current events, especially those in 2016.
  • Cult Classic: The show definitely developed this during it's run and after it's cancellation, no part due to it's unapologetic nature on current events and not caring what others thought in regards to what it showed.
  • Memetic Mutation: "X, what's goin' on, big guy?" usually used in response to public figures with normally inoffensive opinions saying something either deliberately or accidentally provocative.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Arguably the entirety of the show. Aside from the accusations and controversy surrounding it, the surreal nature of it's sketches and the vanity/title cards feel very disjointed, not helped by Brian Ellis's score peppered throughout. When Sam Hyde and co. say the show is "post-apocalyptic", they meant it.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: The show's legacy has been pretty definitively overtaken by the controversy surrounding its cancellation.
