• Badass Adorable: Almost every tank. Human tanks are generally physically tougher than any human yet have a childlike innocence and desire to help their superiors, even the monstrous-looking endgame units. Notably, Mr. Cat rates highly in the badass and adorable departments.
• Moral Event Horizon: Shoutaro seems to regard the massive bomb deployed in Nagoya to be the tipping point in his decision to turn on the Empire, though he had already been planning on it.
• That One Boss: Anything with an Evade capability. They can range from mildly annoying (Knight and Samurai Tanks) to infuriating to deal with Miou, the Albatross in ALTeR.
• That One Level: Most of the Bonus Levels in the Original Game qualify as this.
