YMMV / War (2007)

• Awesome Moments: Whatever the quality of the film itself, the fight between Jason Statham and Jet Li is as awesome as one would expect from these two.
• Complete Monster: Rogue opens the film slaughtering a host of gangsters. A former CIA assassin who murdered his handlers to go freelance, Rogue has no compunction brutally killing women and children, having killed the families of victims before. When agent Tom Lone almost kills Rogue, the assassin returns to murder Tom's wife and child while forcing Tom to watch.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Agent Wick is a Satellite Character to Crawford but is well-liked for his skill in a fight.
  • Daddy's Little Villain Kira could easily be removed from the film without affecting the plot much. Still, she's a fan favorite for being a chilling Dark Action Girl who both gets and inspires some good Even Evil Has Loved Ones moments.
• Magnificent Bastard: Tom Lone is an FBI agent hell-bent on dismantling the Triad and Yakuza gangs. After his family is murdered by an assassin named Rogue, Tom killed the assassin and took his identity in order to find the people responsible. As Rogue, Tom repeatedly worked for the Triads and the Yakuza, killing various gang members while manipulating the gang leaders into getting involved in a war. After Tom destroys the Triads, he goes after Shiro Yanagawa, the leader of the Yakuza clan and the man who sent Rogue to kill his family. Once Tom kills Shiro and discovers his former partner, John Crawford, was also involved in his family's murder, Tom confronts Crawford and kills him too, thus succeeding in his quest to destroy both gangs and avenge his family.
• Signature Scene: The Black Comedy Mexican Standoff between Daddy's Little Villain Kira and two of her subordinates when they mock her demand for a salad after she gets off a 14-hour flight.
• Retroactive Recognition: Sung Kang plays Crawford's partner Goi.
