• Alternative Character Interpretation: Hui. Small, annoying, despicable, Manipulative Bastard who wants to destroy the city out of fun, or the Only Sane Man who knows that Rak'Shasa, the heart of the city, is an utterly selfish Manipulative Bitch who manipulates Paradox and Never and takes the souls of others for herself by getting Paradox to conduct tournaments? Once we find out how despicable Rak'Shasa truly is, Hui's reasoning for destroying the city makes more sense.
• Fridge Horror:
  • At the end of Lariat's round, THE ENTIRE WALKING CITY BLOWS UP. Anybody who was on the Walking City and was unable to return to their homeworld is pretty much dead.
  • Episode 3 of Monkey Wrench (the same universe where Lariat, Triangle, and the Beast are from) shows us how much damage The Beast (known as The Cataclysm in Monkey Wrench) could do if it was successful in its conquest. Over a quarter of the galaxy is shown to have been assimilated by it and quarantined off.
• Genius Bonus: Lariat's entry's cover has binary codes in the background. It translates as: "Even though we may never see each other again, this is not goodbye."
• Memetic Mutation: Sausages, thanks to this.
• Tear Jerker: Triangle's Heroic Sacrifice. Seeing the Nice Guy robot that was Lariat's best friend and lifelong companion blow himself up to destroy the Beast once and for all is a reason to shed tears.
