• Unintentional Period Piece: It's clear to modern day viewers that the series was made in, and is set in, the early 1990's. For example, the currency in the series is still the Guildar rather than the Euro, one episode has Eddie mentiong that the Japanese economy is overtaking the American one, and one episode has Eddie's mom hide her husbands passport so he can't go on a fishing trip to Belgium (while in this day and age, with the Netherlands and Belgium both being members of the European Union, passports or other traveling documents are no longer required to travel between these two countries).
