• Heartwarming Moments:
  • After Redder takes over as president of Zongo, an old woman complains that he'll turn out to be just as corrupt as any of their other leaders and probably has his hands on some chest of treasure or another right now. It cuts to Redder holding a chest... and presenting it to Violine, because it holds letters her father tried to send to her.
  • Violine's reunion with her dad and both of them finding her mom at the end.
• Nightmare Fuel: Marushka is pretty much any parent's worst nightmare. She used her position as Francois's nanny to abuse the poor kid, while living it up in his mansion with her evil brother. When his parents returned and tried to take her to task for what she did, she convinces them to let her stay and poisons them so she can inherit their wealth (which naturally involves getting Francois out of the way). She's still in the house when Francois is forced to return from Africa and manages to worm her way into his life again by convincing him to leave an infant Violine with her while he goes to find his wife. She proceeds to raise Violine just as abusively as she did him. Even worse, it's later revealed that she has the power of hypnosis, so it never mattered if the parents of the children she abused found her out. She could just hypnotize them into letting her stay.
