• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • According to an official Popularity Poll (link Safe For Work) for the original version of the game, the most popular female main character in Japan isn't one of Leonhardt's main allies or a rival Dark Lord, but Liese von Archlond, the younger sister of Dark Lord Julia. This popularity influenced the Hollow Kickstarter's new content, with high-tier backers giving Liese two additional scenes and alternate battle variants, an honor only shared with Leonhardt's closest female allies Anora and Sylvia (who placed high in both Japanese and International popularity polls). A later poll for the International edition had similar results, with Japanese votes placing Sylvia, Anora, Liese, and Luseli as the most popular "main" characters, above the majority of the game's other Dark Lords, while worldwide votes still favored Anora and Sylvia.
  • Lesser examples are Ayame (Tsubaki's Nekomata attendant) and Luseli (the sole angel survivor of the Empire's conquering of Helvetia), who respectively placed 5th and 6th in the original Japanese popularity poll (and Luseli shooting up to Top 4 in the poll following the remake), and each gained one additional scene and outfit in the Hollow release. This gives them more romantic content than Dark Lord Karvia, the only Dark Lord not to receive anything new for the international release.
  • Another example that technically applies more to Venus Blood -Brave- than Hollow itself, but during the Kickstarter's polls to determine guests from other games, Brave (the sole Eastern RPG in the series) received six different representatives, the most of any title included (with the runner-up being Venus Blood -Ragnarok-, technically at four).
