• Archive Panic: With 13 contests over the years, there's a lot of levels to play. Not to mention the fact that only half of them have collab hacks.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: In VLDC 8's "Bright Forest", a garbled Mega Mole sprite falls from the sky and drops into the Bottomless Pit below. It comes right out of nowhere, doesn't fit the context of the level (which is music block segments), and is the only occurrence within the level where anything like this happens. One can reasonably assume this was simply a mistake on the part of the level designer.
• Shocking Moments: VLDC 9's 7th submap, which before this point was thought to be impossible for an SMW hack to have.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: VLDC 8's castle submap theme was noted by many on SMWC and Youtube to be similar to Brad Fiedel's theme for The Terminator.
