- Covered Up: Their cover of "Heartless World" is originally a song made by obscure Canadian hair metal band Tease. Needless to say, they're a bit more notable than Tease. They've also covered "Northwest Passage" from Stan Rogers.
- Even Better Sequel: The critical and fan consensus for Abyss is that it's even better than Apex.
- Growing the Beard: Apex has a noticeable jump up in recording and vocal quality, and it's telling that many people's first exposure to the band is the playthrough video for "Awakening". Even the band agrees they really hit their stride with this album.
