  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In chapter 30, after seeing through Twilight's evil sorceress charade and realizing that she has a good heart beneath it, Princess Ljufa concludes that Twilight is a villain who, deep down, wants to be good, and decides to convince her to that she doesn't have to be a villain and is actually a good person who deserves to love herself. Twilight finds this absolutely mortifying, since it's pretty obvious that Ljufa cast them as the heroine and villainess of, well, a kids' cartoon, and is especially mortified when Ljufa and her handmaidens pull out instruments and start singing. The humorous part is that this story is old enough to entirely predate the show proper's long track of redeeming villains and assorted antagonists; the only redemption in the show up to that point had been done with a magical rainbow laser, with no speeches or song involved. The scene is quite humorous on its own, but it becomes hilarious in light of how often the main characters ended up following in Ljufa's shoes in time, and how often Twilight herself ended up engaging in the same behaviors that her version in this story found cheesy and embarassing.
This is... this is the "reform the villain speech"! The one that you always give to the mean pony in stories! Like... well, like in a cartoon for... for little fillies! She is trying to reform me!
