• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
  • Despite the guest appearances of Ultraman Z cast members Haruki, Z himself, Beliarok and even Celebro, a portion of the audience believe that the Z cast members did little to none in contributing to the movie's overall plot, believing that the movie can still continue on its own even without the obligatory crossover from a past series.
  • In addition, the main antagonist Zabil establishes himself as an ancient civilian from the same era where Yuzare came from. The movie however stops there when it comes to his origins, never mind explaining "how" Zabil is even able to get to the present era.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Given that Haruki returns in this movie after his last appearance in the TV series proper, which has him leaving his Z Riser to Akito for repairs, it would have made sense for said device to return to Haruki's possession to tie up the loose ends. Instead, Haruki's first appearance is after Ultraman Z rescues GUTS-Select from Pagos, then inconveniently revealing the repaired Z Riser in hand with the other characters none the wiser.
