YMMV / Frozen Wight
aka: Trials Of Elsa

Go To

  • Abandon Shipping: The fact that Fritz is only seventeen is mentioned in passing, but there's not much attention called to it until he confesses his feelings for Elsa, at which point she asks him his age. Later, we learn Fritz is "barely" seventeen, prompting a reaction of Squick from many reviewers.
  • Crack Pairing: In-universe. He and Elsa have a brief love potion-induced fling.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The Fair Folk appear in this story, separate from the trolls. The Broadway musical adaptation of Frozen would later feature the Fair Folk in place of the trolls.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Fritz's momma is mentioned repeatedly, but only shows up once towards the end of the story. In her one scene, she manages to reveal herself as both an unrepentant child-abuser and the sorcery-equivalent of a racist old grandparent, all in a rather brazen, over-the-top fashion. Elsa is not pleased at all.
  • The Woobie: Fritz gradually becomes this especially once he's beaten up by Samson.
    • His status as woobie is solidified once it's revealed his parents basically used him as a punching bag.
    • Olive Dale is also a definite example. Her daughter dies, and then her husband goes crazy and dies soon afterwards.
