• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The kid versions of Trent, Katie and DJ. They have no lines and serve no purpose other than to appear in a flashback that essentially repeats the infamous balloon scene from the finale of All-Stars. Even those who knew their appearances would be there just for blatant fanservice figured that at the very least they'd be treated with a bit more respect, especially since like half of the main cast these are their first appearances in about seven years.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Leshawna and Beth. Leshawna's hair is gummed by Beth and gets destroyed, and Beth tries to get it off Leshawna in order not to get sent to the gum dungeon. We should feel bad for them, but we don't, due to both of their horrible actions in this episode and others.
• The Woobie: Owen. He gets framed for putting gum on Leshawna's hair, even though he didn't have anything to do with it.
