YMMV / Tomato Adventure

Go To

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Chapter 4 has DeMille defeating Lilby, before the toy part is stolen by one of her minions, and DeMille chases the minion through a ghostly town where people have been turned transparent, before eventually having to fight Lilby again. DeMille himself is also turned transparent at one point. Then in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the Chapter 4 has Mario chasing down Doopliss to fight him again after seemingly defeating him in a ghostly town where people are turned into Lil' Oinks, and Mario is also turned into a sihouette.
  • Quirky Work: An RPG with a heavy emphasis on food, particularly tomatoes? Definitely sounds like something that the Japanese could pull off.
  • Spoiled by the Format: Anyone who isn't new to video games certainly knows that Chapter 4 can't be as short as just defeating an underwhelming Lilby without even visiting the town or dungeon, so they will only be ready when her minion steals the toy part from DeMille shortly after.
  • Surprise Difficulty: The game is not very hard until Abiwrath, when he suddenly begins to deal damages in three-digit numbers. Still far from insanely difficult, but it can catch people off-guard.
  • Toy Ship: DeMille and Patharan are eight and seven years old respectively and canonically a couple, so they're landed firmly in this trope by default.
