• Harsher in Hindsight: Marine!Luffy has a dream of becoming an Admiral to protect everyone as his form of Justice. In later chapters of One Piece, it is revealed that becoming a Marine Admiral would end up as direct subordinates to the World Nobles and Garp constantly refused to accept the Admiral rank due to his great dislike of them as he prefers to keep his independence in the Marines. Which means that Marine!Luffy would end up shackled to the World Nobles if he achieved his dream.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The Straw Hat Marine Unit are an independent Marine unit that can do whatever they want and act without restrictions from the chain of command. In later chapters of One Piece, SWORD is introduced as an independent Marine unit who are allowed the freedom to disregard any orders they choose and can move and act as they please without repercussions. The two Marine units' interaction with each other would be amusing in form of Interservice Rivalry.
