For example, whether Elena and Jack are also involved with each other is never revealed, or whether Ariadne's close emotional intimacy with Chikondi is romantic in nature, or if it's an extremely deep platonic bond. It's equally easy to view the crew as a romantic triad and their platonic life partner, Platonic Life-Partners where one party is dating two of the others, or a full-on quad relationship.
