• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Lara Jean through the entire movie as she makes some serious idiot moves. She becomes increasingly closer to John, who's clearly falling for her, while never admitting she's already dating someone despite many chances; even when John is invited to a social gathering with Peter there. At said gathering, she's actually shocked when Peter naturally mentions their relationship. After she and Peter break up, she spends an entire romantic night with John - only to ditch him right after kissing him. She instantly leaves to reconcile with Peter and only gives John a simple "Sorry" before running off. Leaving John visibly heartbroken and in tears. To say many fans were not endeared by Lara Jean's behavior (and felt sorry for John for being led on) would be an understatement. Sure, she says she's new to relationships. But most people dating someone would instantly mention to someone clearly into them how they're already seeing someone. As opposed to going along with the flirting and never mentioning their relationship until someone else (let alone their romantic partner) does it for them.
