- Eccentric Artist: Maia was already known to be a Falstaffian figure with a propensity for irony and ribaldry. His joining of a cult, was just icing on the cake.
- Cult Classic: Maia himself is this outside of Brazil, given his relative obscurity outside of his home country.
- Signature Song: There are several contenders in Maia's catalogue. Some of which include "Azul Da Cor do Mar", "Não Quero Dinheiro (Só Quero Amar)", "Gostava Tanto de Você" and "Imunização Racional (Que Beleza)".
- Vindicated by History: The Racional Vols. pretty much broke apart his fanbase and was panned by critics at the time of release. Nowadays, it's considered to be a definitive record in psychedelic and Brazilian music and was re-released in 2005, due to popular demand.
