• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The book gained significant traction in Japan with the Coerl, in particular becoming a Fountain of Expies, with monsters based on it becoming a staple of the Final Fantasy series and many of its imitators and inspiring the original design of Mughi from Dirty Pair (before it was changed to a bear-like creature for the anime version).
