• Magnificent Bastard: Rubeus Hagrid is revealed to be the true mastermind behind the events of the work. He realizes very early that the world would never accept a half-giant such as him, and decides the world therefore needs to be radically changed and a war is the best way to invoke it. Masquerading as naive and simple-minded so that nobody would take him seriously, he subtly manipulates the events that culminate in the Second Wizarding War, starting from pushing Riddle down the slippery slope and ending with motivating Harry for their final battle by conjuring an Afterlife Antechamber scene with himself posing as Dumbledore. After the victory, he continues to stay in the shadows and happily observes Hermione, now Minister of Magic, ensure equality for all the magical creatures—the very thing Hagrid had strived for.
