- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The half-mutant scene mentioned on the main page adds nothing to the plot.
- Designated Villain: Willard is treated as a villain for pointing out that the rocket built to save the last of humanity has no room for four more passengers and that there's no time to add more room or rebuild the time window so that the scientists (and electrician) can go home.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Easily the highlight of the film is the numerous uses of stage magic tricks to provide in-camera special effects. It's pretty neat to see stuff like a robot walking around and then having its head pulled off within the same shot while knowing it was before there could be any CGI involved.
