- Hollywood Pudgy: A Running Gag involves various people calling Banks fat, even though he has a fairly average build. Banks is pretty surprised and upset by this (he doesn't think of himself as fat), so it's likely intentional on the part of the creators for Rule of Funny.
- Ho Yay: There are a few moments between Banks and Gregor that are probably going for a Heterosexual Life-Partners vibe or simply to show that Gregor is wacky, but come across as romantic. Both characters are established as being attracted to women.
- In episode 5, Gregor gives a long speech about how much he cares about Banks. Later, he passes on a message from Lola (a mermaid who was trying to seduce Banks). The message? A kiss on the forehead.
- At the end of the episode 6, Banks suggests that the two of them get a dog together.
