  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Tony being told by existentialist Josey "Why kill time when you can kill yourself?" becomes much harder to watch when you remember that Tony Hancock killed himself only seven years after the film's release.
    • The same applies to Tony leaving his final exhibition, where he claims that only after he dies that his work will be understood. Now in the current day, Hancock is considered to have been one of the finest comedians of the day, or at least was before his Creator Breakdown throughout The '60s.
  • Retroactive Recognition:
    • Jean Marsh makes an uncredited appearance as an unnamed woman at the party.
    • The office manager is played by John Le Mesurier, who would later be best known for playing Sergeant Wilson in Dad's Army.
    • A waitress is played by Liz Fraser, who would later be best known for appearing in four Carry On films.
