YMMV / The Powerpuff Girls (S2E6): "Slave the Day"/"Los Dos Mojos"

Go To

  • Broken Base:
    • Many people think that Blossom's "The Reason You Suck" Speech in "Slave the Day" was too harsh towards Billy, especially when he cried his eyes out afterwards. However, others think that Blossom's speech was justified, since she had spent all day trying to be patient with him, and when Billy caused a chain reaction to stop a monster, that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
    • Likewise, when Billy got beaten up by the Girls after he saved them from stopping the train, some think that was justified, since after all, he did put them on the tracks in the first place. Others believe the beating was irrational, because Billy did have a change of heart when he remembered the girls saving him from the train, so he returned the favor. Those others also think that they could have also let Billy know what he did was wrong, but instead have him apologise for his misdeed.
  • Strawman Has a Point: The girls (particularly Blossom) apparently come off as Ungrateful Bastards to Big Billy when they still beat him up despite the fact he turned a new leaf and decided to save the girls from their impending doom via upcoming subway about to run them over in reciprocation for saving him earlier in the episode. But they did point out that while they appreciate Billy saving them, he still was the one who tied them to the tracks for them to get ran over in the first place, so in their perspective, Billy still needed to suffer the consequences regardless of his good deed in the end. The narrator sums it up best:
"Billy, Billy, Billy. You saved the girls from danger. You done good! But you put em' there in the first place, so you done bad."
