- Hilarious in Hindsight: Supergirl easily decks Faora Hu-Ul, a brutal Zoner who had previously curbstomped Superman in The Great Phantom Peril. Decades later, Superman fans would bristle at Supergirl (2015) suggesting that Supergirl might be more powerful than Superman.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: As wandering around the weird buffer dimension located between the Zone and the real world, Superman and Quex-Ul run into Thul-Kar, the last of the wizards of the Valley of Juru, who outlived Krypton by listening to Jor-El's warnings and entering the Zone, where he became the Aethyr's realm's guardian. Thul-Kar is helpful and polite, answering his hosts' questions and begging them to remain in his domain after explaining the dangers of confronting the Aethyr. And yet Superman threatens to beat him up unless he reveals the portal's location. To be fair, after all the weirdness of said Acid-Trip Dimension, it's entirely possible he wasn't thinking clearly.
