- Harsher in Hindsight: Luz's worry over the curse worsening and her immediate assumption that Eda will die when it fully consumes her hits a lot harder when we later learn that it's not the first time she's had to watch a parent waste away from a terminal illness.
- I Knew It!: Some fans theorized that Lilith was responsible for Eda’s curse. This caught fire the moment Eda's grudgby photo from the previous episode reveals that the former wears glasses that make her eyes look like round circles, which was the only defining feature Eda was able to make out of the one who cursed her until now. As it turns out, they were right.
- Memetic Mutation: "Lego Eda", a picture of a LEGO figurine of Eda that tends to crop up in imageboards. It has its origin in a comic strip that mocked a scene where Luz's hands appear to have no knuckles.
- Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Hooty has long been a rather contentious character, but he earned himself a lot of fans during the opening of this episode when he beat the tar out of a squad of the Emperor’s soldiers and made it look easy.
