Adorkable: Janzo is a cute, clumsy uber nerd who's highly intelligent and very knowledgeable of science, though he has No Social Skills (at first anyway). He attracts the attention of two different beautiful woman (the first was his sister, unfortunately, though neither knew at the time, but Janzo gets with Wren later in Season 3).
Diagnosed by the Audience: At first it seems like Janzo is pretty far on the autism spectrum (his unusual body language and avoidance of looking people in the eye), but then he later shows quite deep insight into other people's feelings. So, who knows. But he's definitely much more awkward in his social interactions than neurotypical people generally are.
Les Yay: There's some minor, one-sided ship-teasing from Gwynn towards Talon, what with Gwynn actively trying to become friends with Talon even after finding out about the UST between this newcomer and her boyfriend. Gwynn remains remarkably unconcerned about this throughout the rest of the season, especially compared to most other fictional love triangles - weirdly, Talon gets more jealous towards the end of the first season than Gwynn ever seems to worry about the fact that Garret returns Talon's interest in him. Then she insists that Talon take a bath in her presence and starts giving her pretty dresses...
So Okay, It's Average: A lot of critical reviews compare the The Outpost unfavorably to Game of Thrones (which had just completed its seventh season when The Outpost premiered). But others like it precisely for the same reason: The Outpost is more of a Genre Throwback to goofy '90s fantasy series like Xena: Warrior Princess than a heavy prestige drama.
Unintentionally Unsympathetic: To some viewers, Talon has become this in the latter half of Season 2 with her "horns and halos" way of thinking causing much friction between her and pretty much every other character, getting her on almost everyone's bad side.
