• Alternate Character Interpretation: Robin tells Nightwing that Batman gave him the same explanation as he did for the reason they broke up: "Things change." Were they truly Batman's words, or did Robin only said that because he knew it was the only way to get Nightwing, who did not like being compared to Batman in any way, to explain to him what led to their falling out?
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • When Robin criticizes Batman for risking Barbara's life as Batgirl by getting her involved in stopping the Joker, Batgirl states that she chose to help Batman, only for Robin to angrily state "You only think you did!", accusing Bruce of being a Manipulative Bastard. Years later, Barbara's first meeting with Terry McGinnis has similar words stated, only with Barbara in Dick's role.
  • While we're on the subject of Batman Beyond, the episode's Hope Spot ending in which Nightwing is convinced that it's time to let go of his grudge against Bruce feels like it's All for Nothing after the Beyond tie-in comics reveal how Bruce winds up completely destroying their relationship by having sex with and impregnating Barbara behind Dick's back.
